About The Atlanta Crochet and Knit Meetup Group

Welcome to the Atlanta Crochet and Knit Meetup Group! We're glad to meet you. Here you have found a wonderful source of crochet and knitting fun, learning, new ideas, and creativity in the Atlanta metro area. We have members from all over the city and with varying skill in crocheting and knitting. Some of us are new to the crafts, while others have been crocheting and knitting for decades! We all love what we do, and most of all, we love getting together and sharing our knowledge with others.

Crocheting and knitting are very old crafts and ones that many people find relaxing. In today's busy, computer-oriented, rush here, rush there, never enough time world, it's nice to know we can turn to crocheting and knitting for some quiet time. The act of moving yarn through fingers and catching each loop with the hook or needles is very relaxing and comforting. Not only that, but in the end you have something very nice for your efforts. Time is never wasted in crocheting and knitting unless of course you must rip back and start over! But even then it's a learning experience, and learning is never a waste of time.

The more you practice the better you become, as with any other skills. That's why we have formed our group. It serves many purposes. First of all, it's just plain FUN to get together with other crocheters and knitters and do what we love best - CROCHET and KNIT! We learn from one another, get new ideas, exchange patterns, and the fun never stops.

Our mission is a simple one: to promote crocheting and knitting to the world in any way we can. We don't want these old crafts to become lost to the next generation. There are too many beautiful things to be made, and we want to show you just how easy it is to do that.
