Chicago Knitters Unite is a well-rounded group of friendly people who just want to knit and crochet over good food, wine and beer, and in good company. Don't let the word Artist scare you. If you do creative work, you are an artist. You don't have to be the BEST or a professional at it, just enjoy doing it. And enjoy showing others and maybe teaching or learning from others. I want us to have a place to meet with other local fiber artists, weavers and spinners like me, but also braiders, knitters, crocheters, rug hookers and what have you. Let's get together to create, learn &/or teach each other how to make jewelry (put together great design from store bought beads or create your own clay beads), cards (simple folding, stamping and taping or using the Cricut and other machines to create designs), handmade crafts (crochet, simple knit, sewing to name a few), etc... This group is for people who love to do crafts including: sewing, quilting, card making, scrap booking, jewelry making, knitting, crocheting and more. Most of us lead very busy lives and do not have enough time to do our craft. This group is providing a place and expanded time period to pursue our favorite crafts.

Meet fellow knitters and crocheters. Admire projects. Swap patterns. Chat and drink coffee. We meet twice a month, the 1st Tuesday and the 3rd Thursday.

We are a group of ladies that love to get together to scrapbook, stamp and quilt (and talk). Cheryl and I open our homes to teach and spend time with new friends and old.  Carol loves teaching quilting classes and also hosting social quilting events. Our two locations are at: Creative Escape (Bridgette's basement) in DeKalb, IL, and Creative Distractions (Cheryl's home) in Freeport, IL.
